Here's the match video of Katlyn Chookagian vs Viviane Araujo from last night's UFC show in Houston. This fight is at Flyweight. The main thing about this match is the judges blew the decision. So let's talk about how I scored this and how the judges scored it. They blew the first two rounds completely. Katlyn's fighting style is that she throws a lot of punches at a distance but very few of them land. So she looks busy and that fools judges. She has won fights this way in the past. And that's why her coach Mark Henry doesn't change her style. Fooling idiot judges works. Viviane was more effective. She landed more punches so I scored it 10-9 Viviane. But all three judges scored it 10-9 Katlyn. Round two was about round stealing. Viviane was in top position for most of the round. Katlyn escaped at the end of the round, landed a couple of strikes. But it shouldn't have been enough to win the round. I scored it 10-9 Viviane. Two of the three judges scored it 10-9 Katlyn and the third scored it 10-9 Viviane. Round three was 10-9 for Katlyn. So I scored it 29-28 for Viviane. Two judges scored it 29-28 for Katlyn and the third scored it 30-27. And before you say "Oh, it was in Texas", two of the three judges were Vegas regulars Marcos Rosales and Chris Lee. Rosales scored it 30-27. The third judge was a Texas guy who also reffed a couple of fights. Check out the video You'll see what I am talking about.
