Artist:Rade Sherbedgia

Song:Some Enchanted Evening

Album:South Pacific: Music from the ABC Premiere Event

Rade Sherbedgia is a Croatian born actor who started doing Hollywood films in the 80s. He is mainly a character actor in supporting roles. To date his only singing appearance was in this 2001 ABC TV production of the musical South Pacific. He was born July 27, 1946 in Bunic, Croatia. After graduating from the University of Zagreb in 1969, Sherbedgia got into theater and then films in the former Yugoslavia. His first film outside Yugoslavia was the 1988 film Hanna's War. This was directed, written and produced by Cannon Films owner Menahem Golan in his native country Israel and Hungary. Sherbedgia had a small but showy role as a ship captain interrogating Ellen Burstyn's character. He moved to Las Angeles in the 90s. He appeared in The Saint, Mighty Joe Young, Eyes Wide Shut and Mission Impossible 2. His biggest role was in the 2000 film Space Cowboys. Then he appeared in the 2001 ABC TV production of South Pacific starring Glenn Close and Harry Connick Jr. Sherbedgia played plantation owner Emile de Becque and he sang Some Enchanted Evening. That's a significant role in a musical for a non-singer. The soundtrack for this show is available as a budget CD. To date this is Sherbedgia's only singing appearance. He returned to supporting roles in films like The Quiet American, EuroTrip and Batman Begins. Sherbedgia's most significant recent appearance was in the CBS All Access series Strange Angel. Sherbedgia's primary residence is in Croatia where he is a star and I guess an elder statesman of acting. Here's Rade Sherbedgia performing Some Enchanted Evening in the 2001 ABC TV production of South Pacific.
