Artist:Patrick Wolf
Song:Hard Times
Album:The Bachelor
Patrick Wolf mixes electronic music with strings. Some call it electronic chamber music. He has had modest success mostly in England. And he last recorded in 2012. He was born Patrick Denis Apps June 30, 1983 in London, England. He was 11 years old when he started experimenting with electronic music in his bedroom. He was messing around with organs and he even built his own theremin. This got the attention of Fat Cat Records who supplied him with a computer and mixing tools. Wolf moved to France and performed as Maison Crimineaux. Electronic musician Kristian "Capitol K" Robinson saw him and he released Wolf's 2003 debut album Lycanthropy on the German Tomlab label. After two albums on Tomlab, Wolf signed with Universal's Loog label for the 2005 album The Magic Position. Low Altitude Records released it in the US. The album sold better due to better distribution. Wolf toured the US to support the album. Hard Times is from Wolf's 2009 album The Bachelor. Wolf left Universal to start his own label. He sold shares of his company through Bandstocks. I guess it didn't work as planned because Wolf signed with Mercury's Hideout label for the 2010 album Lupercala. For his tenth anniversary, Wolf recorded acoustic versions of his recordings. The album was called Sundark and Riverlight. Then he went on hiatus and he has yet to return. Wolf was writing a book of poetry when he was hit by a car while on holiday in Venice. Then his mother got sick. Wolf has been working on new music since 2018. Like I said, this has been a long hiatus. The Bachelor is available as a digital download. Wolf will interest electronic pop fans. Here's the video for Hard Times by Patrick Wolf.
