Artist:Chase Bryant
Song:Little Bit of You
EP:Chase Bryant
Chase Bryant scored two top 20 country hits in 2014. Then he disappeared. But I will tell you what he is doing now. He was born Chase Yaklin Oct. 9, 1992 in Orange Grove, TX. The name Chase Bryant is a tribute to his grandfather and long time Roy Orbison guitarist Jimmy Bryant. After graduating high school, Bryant moved to Nashville. A 2010 EP got him a publishing deal with Roy Orbison's widow Barbara. And this led to a record deal with Broken Bow's Red Bow label. The singles Take It On Back and Little Bit of You both reached #16 on the Billboard Country Singles chart. The EP Chase Bryant followed. The EP was produced by Derek George and Bryant and George wrote the song with hit songwriter Ashley Gorley. The EP is available as a digital download. But there was no album. For one thing Broken Bow closed Red Bow in 2018 with plans to fold the label's artists into the parent label. Meanwhile Bryant left a suicide note in his truck and planned to shoot himself when he got home. He told People that his parents were staying with him at the time so he decided not to do it. He was very depressed and disillusioned with the music business. He left Broken Bow and signed with Green Iris Records owned by Roy Orbison's son Roy Orbison Jr. and his grandson Alex Orbison. Bryant's debut album Upbringing will be released in July. The producer is veteran session musician Jon Randall who has also produced Dierks Bentley among others. We'll see how Bryant takes advantage of this second chance. Here's the video for Little Bit of You by Chase Bryant.
