AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Gabby Barrett

Artist:Gabby Barrett

Song:I Hope

Album:Goldmine

After finishing third on the 2018 season of American Idol, Gabby Barrett signed with Warner Bros. and scored a crossover hit with I Hope. She was born Mar. 5, 2000 in Munhall, PA which is in Alleghany County. While appearing on the 2018 season of American Idol, Gabby announced that she had signed with Warner Bros. Her debut single I Hope topped the Country Singles chart and crossed over to pop and reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Gabby wrote the song with Jon Nite and Zach Kale. Kale produced the record with Ross Copperman. Copperman is a veteran producer who has had his greatest success with Keith Urban. Kale comes from the CCM group Elevation Worship. These guys produced the 2020 album Goldmine. Is Gabby's music country or pop? I think it's more pop than country but it has elements of both. It also has the anthemic sound of the kind of Praise & Worship music that Kale has done with Elevation Worship. Gabby is off to a good start. Appearing on American Idol certainly helped. And she appeals to young people because she's young. Gabby married fellow AI contestant Cade Foehner in 2019 and she gave birth to a daughter in Jan. 2021. Maybe it's time to record a new album. Can she repeat her initial success? Here's the video for I Hope by Gabby Barrett.
