Here's the match video of Kay Lee Ray defending her WWE NXT UK Women's championship against Meiko Satomura. As most fans probably know, the WWE has hired Meiko as a player coach. This was only Meiko's second TV appearance. They just don't build up to big matches anymore. The match started out slowly. At times they seemed to be unsure of what they were doing. The match picked up in the closing stretch. It just seemed to drag at times. For example, both of them took too long to get to the top rope and they missed the move. Maybe there was too much of that. When Meiko missed the Scorpion Rising, I knew she would lose. And I'm sure her fans were disappointed. But the WWE seems to be obsessed with record title runs mainly so they can talk about them on air. This is despite the fact that most of KLR's title run was during the pandemic when NXT UK was inactive. So yeah, her record title run is BS. This match won't change my viewing habits. I will watch NXT UK only when Meiko appears. I'm not interested in the other wrestlers. But the match is pretty good so check it out. It's just not as good as some will try to say.
