AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Radical Face

Artist:Radical Face

Song:Welcome Home

Album:Ghost

Radical Face is one of several pseudonyms used by singer songwriter Ben Cooper. Right now it seems to be his most active recording persona. You probably heard Welcome Home in a Nikon ad campaign. He was born Feb. 24, 1982 in Jacksonville, FL. Cooper started out drawing and got into music as a teen. When he came out as gay at age 14, his stepfather threw him out of the house. Later he discovered that his stepfather sexually abused his niece. So he adopted her and testified at his trial. This led to a series of Radical Face albums called The Family Tree based on his family history. Cooper records all of his music in a tool shed attached to his house. He has recorded with Alex Kane as Electric President and with Richard Colado as Clone. Radical Face is his most successful project. Welcome Home is from the 2007 album Ghost. The song appeared on a couple of TV shows. But most notably it was used in an international ad campaign for Nikon. That's how new music is discovered these days. Just search for it and download it at iTunes or Spotify. Welcome Home was named song of the year by the British Consumers Association AKA Which?. Ghost is available as a digital download. The success of Welcome Home got Radical Face a record deal with Nettwerk. Though Cooper occasionally records under other names, he is mainly active as Radical Face. He just released an EP. Here's the video for Welcome Home by Radical Face.
