Here's the match video of Asuka vs Shayna Baszler from last night's episode of RAW. Asuka has been out since Shayna kicked a tooth out three weeks ago. Asuka flashed her teeth a few times so we know she had the dental work done. Earlier in the show, Shayna and Nia Jax were at commentary for a terrible women's tag team match. Asuka comes out. Shayna goes out to meet her and Asuka hits her with a spinning head kick. So that sets up this match. Asuka attacks Shayna before the match. And then when Nia interferes, Asuka gets rid of her with a blockbuster and a shining wizard. She would have to get rid of Nia a couple more times. After Shayna knees Asuka in the mouth. commentary teases that Asuka may have lost another tooth. But she's fine and goes on to win the match. She turns Shayna's kirifuda clutch into a pin. Shayna holds on and seems to put Asuka to sleep. But when she goes to kick her, Asuka grabs her foot and turns it into a German suplex. Asuka was playing possum. After a curb stomp into the turnbuckle, Asuka pulls the padding off and grabs Shayna's mouth guard. But the ref stops her before she can curb stomp Shayna into the exposed turnbuckle. BOOOOOO! to the ref. I think this may be the beginning of a beautiful feud. Don't be surprised if Shayna and Nia lose the tag titles to Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair on this Friday's Smackdown.
