Artist:Tenth Avenue North
Song:I Have This Hope
Album:Followers
Tenth Avenue North had a strong run on the CCM charts until they split up last year. Lead singer and songwriter Mike Donehey is in the process of launching a solo career. He was born Sept. 30, 1981 in Omaha but he grew up in Fredericksburg, VA and attended Fredericksburg Christian School. He almost died in a car crash during his senior year of high school. He learned to play guitar during his recovery. Donehey formed Tenth Avenue North while attending Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL. Tenth Avenue North is a neighborhood street. After releasing three albums independently, Tenth Avenue North signed with Reunion Records for the 2008 album Over and Underneath. They had success on the CCM chart with the single Love Is Here. By this time the band was Donehey, Jeff Owen on guitar, Scott Sanders on bass and Jason Jamison on drums. I Have This Hope is from the 2016 album Followers. That single reached #5 on the CCM chart. But after Jamison and keyboard player Brendon Shirley left the band, Donehey announced in Feb. 2020 that Tenth Avenue North would go on a farewell tour and disband. Of course with the pandemic, they aren't likely to tour. And Donehey has already released a couple of solo EPs. He should have success in the CCM market. Here's the video for I Have This Hope by Tenth Avenue North.
