Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Big Bad Blog Video Theater-Amanda Nunes vs Felicia Spencer
Here's the match video of Amanda Nunes defending her UFC Featherweight Championship against Felicia Spencer. The last time we saw Amanda she went five rounds against Germaine De Randamie and she didn't look that good. There's no question that Felicia is a better fighter than Germaine. I figured if Felicia could take Amanda down and tire her out, she could win this fight. As it turns out, Amanda is a much different fighter at Featherweight mainly because she doesn't have to cut as much weight. And remember this is only her second Featherweight fight in the UFC. Felicia could never get going and when she tried for a takedown, she wound up on the bottom. And Felicia doesn't have the striking to compete with Amanda. So Amanda beat her up for five rounds and she hit her hard enough to knock her out. She just wouldn't go down. There were the usual complaints that the fight should have been stopped. But it's not like Felicia was staggering around. She was just getting beat up. And there are still fans who don't want to see women get beat up. This double standard has always been around. So the problem with Amanda is there aren't any decent Featherweights. I expect her to return to Bantamweight and I would like to see her stay there and I would not be surprised if the UFC closed the Featherweight division. Going between the two weight classes seems to affect Amanda negatively at Bantamweight. She doesn't need to fight at Featherweight anymore. Bantamweight is her bread and butter. There is more competition there. Enjoy the video!

Frank, good analysis of the fight and the fighters. I am surprised Felicia survived all 5 rounds of Amanda. She can hit very hard. But I did think Amanda would win. I did not expect she would win this way. I wish them both good luck. David
