AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Sin Bandera

Artist:Sin Bandera
Song:Entra En Ma Vida
Album:Solo Para Mujeres

Sin Bandera was a very popular pop duo mostly in Mexico but also in other Latin American countries. Entra En Ma Vida wasn't their biggest hit but it was their first single in 2002. It did well enough to set them up for longevity. Leonel Garcia and and Noel Scharjis were trying to make it as solo artists. Garcia is Mexican. Scharjis is from Argentina but he moved to Mexico after he married. They started working together in 1999 and decided to call themselves Sin Bandera which means Without A Flag. Garcia plays guitar and Scharjis plays piano. They write the songs together. They brought in Aureo Baqueiro to produce. He had been writing and producing since the 80s. Sin Bandera signed with Sony and they released their 2002 debut CD Sin Bandera. Entra En Ma Vida was the first single. It topped the Mexican charts and the album was certified 2XPlatinum. It was also the theme for the TV Azteca telenovela Cuando Seas Mia. Sin Bandera won a Latin Grammy and other awards.  Their next couple of albums did well. They had a total of four number one hits in Mexico. They started to fade when they brought in Brian McKnight to produce the 2005 album Manana. They wanted to stretch to an R&B vibe. But it didn't do that well. And then the 2006 album Pasado was an album of covers. Varying their approach was unsuccessful. Fans don't really want that. Sin Bandera split up and both guys recorded solo albums. This budget comp is a good intro to their music. Sin Bandera reunited in 2016. They released an EP and toured successfully. Both have returned to solo careers. Here's the video for Entra En Ma Vida by Sin Bandera.
