AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Mitchell Tenpenny

Artist:Mitchell Tenpenny
Song:Drunk Me
Album:Telling All My Secrets

After success as a songwriter, Mitchell Tenpenny scored a top ten country hit with Drunk Me, the first single from his 2018 major label debut album Telling All My Secrets. He was born Aug. 17, 1989 in Nashville. His grandmother was Sony/ATV Music Publishing CEO Donna Hilley. She introduced him to veteran songwriters Bobby Braddock and Curly Putman and Tenpenny got interested in songwriting. While he played football at Middle Tennessee State, Tenpenny earned a music business degree. He released the 2015 album Black Crow on Creation Lab. Then he had success as a songwriter especially with American Idol season 14 winner Nick Fradiani. And that's where he met producer Jordan Schmidt who produces Florida Georgia Line. Tenpenny's music publisher Jennifer Johnson started Riser House Records with Columbia distribution. The 2018 album Telling All My Secrets was his major label debut. The single Drunk Me reached #6 on the Country Singles chart. The song is about quitting drinking to get over a failed relationship. Tenpenny and Schmidt wrote and produced most of the album. He has been on tour since then. The single Anything She Says with Aussie duo and labelmates Seaforth was released in 2019. So it looks like Tenpenny has a new album on the way. Here's the video for Drunk Me by Mitchell Tenpenny.
