Song:Amor del Bueno
Album:En la Luna
Mexican singer songwriter Reyli Barba was lead singer of the rock band Elefante. After he left in 2003, he turned himself into a crooner and had success with the 2004 album En la Luna and singles like Amor del Bueno. After some personal problems, Barba is currently on the comeback trail. He was born Apr. 12, 1972 in Juarez, Mexico. He joined Elefante in the late 90s and he was lead singer when they had success with singles like El Abandonao in 2001. Barba left to go solo in 2003. His 2004 debut album En la Luna was released on Sony. He scored three hit singles from the album including Amor del Bueno which reached #11 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart. His song La Descarada was the theme for Televisa's internationally shown telenovela Rubi which was very popular in Mexico. The album was certified 2XPlatinum in Mexico and Gold in the US. Subsequent albums have not done as well. Barba's biggest success was when his song Amor Gitano was recorded by Beyonce and Alejandro Fernandez in 2007. Barba had previously written songs for Fernandez. Beyonce and Fernandez were working on albums and Beyonce told a Sony exec that she wanted to record with a male Latin star. Amor Gitano did well in Latin America. In recent years Barba has had drug and alcohol addiction problems. He was arrested in 2013 and sent to a rehab center. He is now on the comeback trail. He released the 2019 album La Metamorfosis under his full name Reyli Barba. Here's the video for Amor del Bueno by Reyli.
