James Moss is a multi talented gospel artist from Detroit. He grew up in the gospel music business. His parents Bill & Essie Moss led the gospel group The Celestials and James and his brother Bill Jr. sang together as teenagers. Also his aunt was gospel music pioneer Dr. Mattie Moss Clark meaning the legendary Clark Sisters are cousins. Moss released a couple of solo CDs on his own label in the mid 90s but they went nowhere. He formed the production company PAJAM with Paul "PDA" Allen & Walter Kearney. Their big break came with Karen Clark Sheard's 1997 debut CD Finally, Karen. Since then, PAJAM has been one of the busiest production teams in music. They work mostly on gospel but have also produced some secular R & B. J. Moss started appearing as a guest vocalist on some projects and his cameo as rapper Ricky J. Styles on the 2003 Tri-i-tee 5:7 video Holla earned him a record deal with GospoCentric. His 2004 CD The J. Moss Project hit big and this new CD V2 is going to do the same. He has plenty of guests including R & B singer Anthony Hamilton on I'm Not Perfect. Despite PAJAM's success as producers, I guess J. Moss always wanted to be a singer. And as this latest video Operator shows, he's a fantastic singer with plenty of energy. Keep an eye peeled on the video for an appearance by his cousin and gospel superstar Kierra "Kiki" Sheard.
