NEO has their own silly press conference

NEO held a press conference on Tuesday to hype some of the matches for their May 3 Korakuen Hall show. Strangely enough, the tag team title match was not part of the press conference. I don't know what to make of some of the stuff they're doing on this show. They have a pop singer in one of the matches and they have all this Ice Ribbon involvement that only adds really bad comedy. Isn't Tanny Mouse enough?

The press conference began with the contract signing for the JWP Junior Championship match. This was straight forward. Champ Arisa Nakajima & challenger Aya Yuki signed the contract. Nakajima said she is still upset that she didn't win Discover New Heroine II and she wants to redeem herself by defending her title. Yuki said she has never won over Nakajima but hopes to bring the title to NEO.

At this point, the press conference entered the twilight zone and stayed there. Yoshiko Tamura was in attendance to talk about her NEO Singles & NWA Pacific Titles defense against Sakura Emi. But where was Emi? Well, she's been going out of her way to irritate Tamura and her latest shtick is she may have to cancel the match because she isn't feeling well. So she sent her Ice Ribbon partner Makoto to represent her. Tamura says "Are you telling me Emi has a tummy ache? Is she an adult or a child?" Then she starts yelling at NEO GM Koda. Makoto said she would sign the contract for Emi and she brought her own belt to put up at the match. Tamura said that when she's finished with Emi on May 3 the Ice Ribbon belt will go in the garbage. She chased Makoto out of the room.

There's a match on this show with Makoto (pictured) & Etsuko Mita against The Mummy & a mystery partner. Yeah, it's a guy in a mummy suit. If you haven't seen Makoto, her whole shtick is she is a terrible wrestler and a coward. She runs around the ring a lot. I guess this is supposed to be comedy. So she was there with the mummy. Mita isn't there. Someone said she's afraid of the mummy. The Mummy pulls a photo out of his pocket and gives it to Koda. Koda confirms that the mystery partner is Manami Toyota. Makoto looks very worried about this and The Mummy chases her around the room and out the door.
