Artist:The Temptations
Song:Glasshouse
Album:Emperors Of Soul
Emperors Of Soul is a 5CD box set that covers The Temptations entire career at Motown. It's definitely worth getting for Motown fans. The Temptations went through a lot of incarnations. Glasshouse is a great dance track from the 1975 album Song For You. By this time, David Ruffin & Eddie Kendricks had left and Dennis Edwards was lead singer. The Commodores were used as backup band as producer Jeffrey Bowen had produced both groups. Add P-Funk guitarist Eddie Hazel & bassist Billy Nelson and you have a pretty good Motown version of 70s funk. There was some friction between Bowen & the Tempts for his use of outside backup singers but Glasshouse was a hit so the results were there. I'm sure another version of The Temptations will come up as Song Of The Day in the futrure.
