Yahoo LAUNCHCAST song of the day

Artist:The Temptations

Song:Ain't Too Proud To Beg

Album:20th Century Masters-The Millenium Collection:The Best Of The Temptations Vol. 1

Ain't Too Proud To Beg was a huge hit for The Temptations in 1966. It was produced & written by Norman Whitfield and features a great lead vocal from David Ruffin. Ruffin was a great singer whose temperment and drug problems caused him to be fired from The Temptations in 1968. He had some solo success in the late 60s but left Motown in 1977 and went nowhere. He had a brief renaissance in the 80s when Hall & Oates toured with Ruffin & Eddie Kendricks. David Ruffin died of a drug overdose June 1, 1991 at age 50. This budget comp is OK for beginners but the 5CD Emperors Of Soul box set is for serious fans.
