This is what the disabled live with daily

Toronto station CITY-TV did a story yesterday on the kind of thing that all disabled live with daily. Richmond Hill resident Robin Hadley rides a scooter. A few months ago a broken water main prevented her from entering her local pharmacy. Apparently the newly built ramp is too narrow and it's the only way in as they have added more stairs to the other entrance. The building owner claims the ramp is regulation. What I find amusing is CITY has treated this like it is unusual. But it happens every day all over Toronto & surrounding area. It's only good for business for building owners to make buildings completely accessible. But a lot don't want to spend the money. There are supposed to be new regulations in effect in Ontario on Nov. 1, 2006. It remains to be seen if building owners will comply or if Ontario will enforce the new regulations. Go to http://www.citynews.ca/ to watch the video and see what we have to deal with every day.
