Byron Cage is a gospel artist known as the Prince Of Praise. He combines Praise & Worship with contemporary gospel elements and has become very popular in recent years. He was born Dec. 15, 1962 in Grand Rapids, MI. He was music director for the New Birth Cathedral in Atlanta for a decade. He first surfaced as a solo artist with his group Purpose on Atlanta International Records in 1994. He didn't do well and in 1998, Cage became minister of music at Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, MD. He still did occasional guest shots on records and one of those guest shots got the attention of GospoCentric Records owner Vicki Mack Latandaille. She had the idea of putting Cage together with Kurt Carr for a live CD. The 2003 CD Live At The New Birth Cathedral was a huge success. Rain On Me is from the 2005 follow up Invitation To Worship. Cage works with Paul "PDA" Allen & J. Moss of PAJAM. Cage always records live and the CD will not disappoint his fans. He again worked with PAJAM on his new CD The Proclamation (Live At The Apollo). This was released a couple of weeks ago and has guest appearances by Kelly Price, Kim Burrell & Dave Hollister.
