Artist:Bebe Winans
Song:Love & Freedom
Album:Love & Freedom
Gospel artist Benjamin "Bebe" Winans is seventh of the ten Winans siblings. He was born Sept. 17, 1962 in Detroit. Of course he's best known for singing as a duo with sister Cece. When they split up, Bebe released a 1997 CD on Atlantic. It did OK but then he moved to Motown for the 2000 CD Love & Freedom. He had a crossover hit Coming Back Home with R & B singers Brian McKnight & Joe. McKnight probably got him the record deal as he was also on Motown. It's a very strong R & B/gospel CD with Stevie Wonder & Stephanie Mills appearing as well. Like the rest of his family, Bebe writes & produces much of his own material. He was caught up in corporate record company politics and was dropped from Motown. He currently records for Steve McKeever's Hidden Beach Recordings and his latest CD is called Cherch. He is also planning a Bebe & Cece Winans reunion CD for 2008 and that will be on Cece's label. And he's a judge on BET's gospel version of American Idol called Sunday Best. Like his siblings, Bebe Winans is a very talented guy and I'm sure we'll hear plenty more from him in the future. Here's the video for Coming Back Home by Bebe Winans, Brian McKnight & Joe.
