Here's the match video of Io Shirai defending her NXT Women's Championship against Dakota Kai from last night's Takeover show. First they ran this video where Dakota says she doesn't need anyone and then Raquel Gonzales comes to the ring with her. I think there may have been some indecision about Raquel's role in this angle. But once they decided to bring her back, Dakota's promo should have been redone. Early in the match Io seems to land on her head while doing a handspring flip. Looking at it again, if she did hit her head, the blow was softened by her hands. She continued like nothing happened. Raquel gets involved early on and Io is driven into the post and hurts her arm. Dakota spends a lot of time working on the arm and Io sells it great. But typical of any match with Io, Dakota can't put her away. The finish comes when Dakota kicks the ref by accident and knocks him out. Raquel chokeslams Io and places Dakota on top of her. Io kicks out. Io does a moonsault to the floor on both of them and that leads to Io winning the match with another moonsault. Raquel attacks Io but Rhea Ripley makes the save and stares down Raquel. Obviously this will lead to various combinations of these four wrestlers. The next Takeover show is in November. It's a very good match so be sure to check out the video.
