Ancient Jules is from Gunn's 2016 album Eyes on the Lines. This was Gunn's first album with the popular indie label Matador. The album was highly acclaimed and appeared on several Best of 2016 lists. You'll notice in the video that Gunn is hanging out at the home of British guitar legend Mike Chapman. That was a big deal for Gunn as Chapman is one of his biggest influences. Gunn's latest album The Unseen In Between was released in 2019. His main collaborator on both Matador albums is British musician James Elkington. Here's the video for Ancient Jules by Steve Gunn.
