Artist:Jeremih f/YG
Song:Don't Tell 'Em
Album:Late Nights: The Album
The 2014 single Don't Tell 'Em was the third of three top ten hits for R&B singer songwriter Jeremih. You haven't heard much from him lately because he was in an ongoing dispute with DefJam Records. That seems to have ended recently so we'll see what he does next. He was born Jeremy Felton July 17, 1987 in Chicago. He started playing drums at age three and by the time he was in high school, he could play several instruments. He studied music business at Columbia Music Chicago and while there, he met Mick Schultz and the two have worked together for Jeremih's entire career. He signed with DefJam in 2009 and the single Birthday Sex reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. His second top ten hit was the 2010 single Down on Me from the 2010 album All About You. It reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Then he started having trouble with DefJam. Jeremih announced he was planning an album for a 2012 release. But it was never released possibly because DefJam didn't like it. So instead Jeremih released a 2012 mixtape Late Nights with Jeremih. Then he released an EP through his Twitter account. The single Don't Tell 'Em was released June 2014 and reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Late Nights: The Album was released Jan. 2015. The single features rapper YG. Jeremih wrote and produced with Schultz and DJ Mustard. The main sample is from the 1992 single Rhythm Is a Dancer by Snap!, There was no music video because Jeremih was unhappy with DefJam. This album is available as a budget CD. That's his latest solo album. He did release the 2018 album MihTy with Ty Dolla Sign. Then he went on hiatus. Jeremih left DefJam last year and plans future releases on his own label. We'll see if anything comes from that. Here's a video for Don't Tell 'Em by Jeremih featuring YG.
