AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Sam Hunt

Artist:Sam Hunt
Song:Leave The Night On
Album:Montevallo

Sam Hunt made a big splash on the country charts with the single Leave The Night On and is likely to continue that with his debut CD Montevallo. He's similar to other popular male country artists. I guess his challenge is distinguishing himself from those guys so he doesn't get lost in the shuffle. He was born Dec. 8, 1984 where he was a star quarterback in high school. He played at Middle Tennessee State and University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was not drafted but he signed as a free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs. Hunt had already been tinkering with music. So when things weren't working out in football, he moved to Nashville. After he co-wrote the 2012 Kenny Chesney hit Come Over, Hunt released a single and a mixtape and signed with MCA Nashville. Leave The Night On reached #2 on the Country Singles Chart. It also crossed over to the pop top 40. After the EP X2C was released in August, his full length debut CD Montevallo was released Oct. 27, 2014. The album was produced by Zach Crowell. It's his first full length CD as a producer. He has done mostly remixes. Hunt wrote Leave The Night on with co-producer Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. They wrote Come Over with Hunt and are the guys behind Kacey Musgraves. Hunt is currently on a CMT tour with Kip Moore and Charlie Worsham. He's off to a good start but it's very crowded in country music. We'll see how he does down the road. Here's the video for Leave The Night On by Sam Hunt.
