Artist:Pat Monahan
Song:Her Eyes
Album:Last of Seven
Fans of the popular band Train should be interested in this 2007 album by that band's leader Pat Monahan. It is to date his only solo album and I don't expect him to record solo again. He was born Feb. 28, 1969 in Erie, Pa. His dad owned a clothing store and was an amateur musician. He was the youngest of seven children. Monahan was in the local band Rogues Gallery in the late 80s. After they split up, he moved to San Francisco. Train was formed in 1994 and they were very successful until they decided to go on hiatus in 2006. Monahan went to England to work on some music for Tina Turner with British producer Guy Chambers. Chambers is a former member of World Party and is best known for producing Robbie Williams. A couple of their songs appeared on the 2009 3CD box set Tina! The Platinum Collection. After he returned home, Monahan wrote and produced the 2007 album Last of Seven with Patrick Leonard. Leonard is best known for his work with Madonna. Her Eyes was the lead single and it charted on the Adult Contemporary chart. Monahan and Leonard wrote Her Eyes with John Shanks. Shanks is best known for producing Westlife. He played guitar on Her Eyes. Those making guest appearances include Brandi Carlile, Graham Nash and Richie Sambora. The album did OK. But not surprisingly, Monahan reformed Train in 2009 and they still record and tour. Train fans should check out Monahan's solo album. But I don't expect him to do another one unless Train splits up or something. Here's the video for Her Eyes by Pat Monahan.
