Miesha Tate vs Jessica Eye set for July 25 UFC show

It was announced today on the Fox Sports 1 show America's Pregame that Miesha Tate vs Jessica Eye will be on UFC on FOX 16 July 25 at the United Center in Chicago. The winner of this fight will face the winner of Ronda Rousey vs Bethe Correia for the UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship. When Ronda announced this fight at the press conference for her fight, UFC president Dana White admitted that it wasn't supposed to be announced. He said it might happen in June probably in New Orleans. But Miesha was under a six month medical suspension due to a broken orbital bone and White wasn't sure if she would get cleared in time to fight in June. The suspension will run out at the end of July. Though once in a blue moon the UFC asks for medical suspensions to be reduced, most of the time it's not worth the paperwork for them to do that. And from what I understand, Miesha has yet to be cleared for full training. So even if the UFC wanted this fight to happen in June, Miesha would want a full camp and it's better to do it later. I have already heard from fans complaining about Miesha possibly getting a third shot at Ronda. If you want to blame someone for that possibility, point the finger straight at Sara McMann for knocking Miesha down and then inexplicably she didn't go for the finish. That may be one of the stupidest things I have seen in MMA. So I think that other than diehard Miesha fans, most fans will be pulling for Jessica. And if Jessica is aggressive as she was against Leslie Smith, she could win if she doesn't let Miesha off the hook as Sara did. It should be an interesting high stakes fight.
