AccuRadio Song Of The Day-Maddie & Tae

Artist:Maddie & Tae
Song:Girl In A Country Song
Album:Maddie & Tae EP

Maddie & Tae took the country music charts by storm in 2014 with Girl In A Country Song which lampoons bro-country cliches. The great thing is these two girls are barely out of their teens and they write their own songs. Their debut CD will be out in June. Madison Marlow was born July 7, 1995 in Sugar Land, TX. Taylor Dye was born Sept. 18, 1995 in Ada, OK. They met in 2010. Their vocal coach put them together. They started writing together and performed in local clubs as Sweet Aliana. They moved to Nashville after graduating high school and got the attention of Big Machine Records owner Scott Borchetta who immediately signed them. He assigned house songwriter Aaron Scherz to help them. Scherz had been in Nashville since 1999 mostly doing IT consulting while trying to make it as a songwriter. Big Machine was his first paid job in music. He helped Maddie & Tae write Girl In A Country Song and brought it to producer Dann Huff. Huff was guitarist for the Christian rock band White Heart and then he was a Nashville session guitarist. Now he's a hot shot producer. Scherz says because Girl In A Country Song makes fun of country music, he didn't know if Big Machine would even release it. But Borchetta loved it and used the song to relaunch Dot Records. Girl In A Country Song topped the US Country Airplay chart. The Maddie & Tae EP is only available as a digital download. But their full length debut CD Start Here will be released June 2. And they will tour with Dierks Bentley this summer. It looks like the sky's the limit for Maddie & Tae. Here's the video for Girl In A Country Song by Maddie & Tae.
