Of course most music fans are familiar with Ronald Isley as lead singer of The Isley Brothers. He's had some solo success in recent years. This 2013 single was written, produced and also features Kem Owens. It was a top five R&B hit. It first appeared on Isley's 2013 album This Song Is For You on E1 and it also appears on Kem's 2014 album Promise To Love on Motown. Both albums are available on CD but the Kem album is much cheaper. Kem produced Promise To Love and wrote most of the songs. On My Favorite Thing he gets production assistance from Rex Rideout who normally produces Ledisi and Demetrious "Krayon" Nabors who has played piano with Lee Ritenour. Snoop Dogg also makes a guest appearance in the album. Rideout worked on most of the album. It's obviously a Kem song and he allowed Isley to put it on his album. This is the latest album by both guys. Isley still records and tours with The Isley Brothers. He also appeared on a 2015 Kendrick Lamar album. There have been recent rumors that he is getting a new album ready for a 2020 release. But those rumors turned out to be false. Kem told the Detroit Free Press in May that he's finishing up a new album for a 2020 release. He is currently on tour. Kem also appeared on Gregory Porter's 2016 album Take Me To The Alley.
