Raphael Marinho of Combate reported last night that Karol Rosa vs Lara Procopio has been added to UFC on ESPN+ 15 Aug. 31 at Universiade Sports Center in Shenzhen, China. This fight will be at Bantamweight. Both fighters have confirmed the fight via Instagram. I heard a couple of weeks ago that Karol signed with the UFC. She is 24 years old. She trains at PRVT in Brazil so she is a teammate of Jessica Andrade. Karol's record is 11-3 on the Brazilian regional circuit. She was 17 years old when she debuted in 2012. She has fought at Bantamweight and Featherweight. Karol was supposed to fight Jan Finney on Battlefield FC 2 July 27 in Macau. When she got the call from the UFC, PRVT paid Battlefield to get out of the fight. Lara is 23 years old. She trains at Nova Uniao in Brazil. Her record is 6-0. In Mar. 2018, Lara won the Shooto Brazil Bantamweight Championship with a win over Mariana Morais. Then in Aug., she won the Shooto Brazil Flyweight Championship with a win over Sidy Rocha. She hasn't fought since then. Neither fighter has ever fought outside Brazil and they are going all the way to China. It's a big step up from the Brazilian regional circuit.
