Here's the match video of Angela Hill vs Jodie Esquibel from last night's UFC show in Sunrise, FL. Jessica Penne was supposed to face Jodie in February. But she missed weight and then sprained her ankle on fight day. The fight was rebooked then Angela Hill replaced Jessica last week. They are teammates at Alliance in San Diego. I don't know why Jessica pulled out but she was in Angela's corner. It's a tougher match for Jodie because Angela is quicker than Jessica. It was funny that Jon Anik mentioned that these two were supposed to fight in Invicta a few years ago and then Jodie got called to the UFC. Because Invicta is where this fight should be. Neither fighter belongs in the UFC. The way Dominick Cruz talks you'd think it was a great technical fight. But he's friends with Angela so pay no attention to him. The fight was three rounds of light sparring which is about what I expected. The big difference is Angela is quicker than Jodie. Jodie starts out the fight moving forward plodding. And as the match progresses and she tires, she just gets worse. She's been like this since Invicta. There's no improvement and now she has lost all three of her UFC fights. Julie Kedzie tweeted her disappointment afterwards because she knows Jodie will be released. I'm sure she will be welcomed back to Invicta. I'm sure Angela was very happy to get a win. But we have seen enough of her to know that she can't beat anyone good. I don't know what is left on her contract. But if it's over, the UFC should be reluctant to renew her because they know who she is. Why delay the inevitable? Enjoy the video!
