Ariel Helwani of ESPN reported this afternoon that Katlyn Chookagian vs Jessica Eye has been added to UFC 231 Dec. 8 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. This fight will be at Flyweight. Originally Jessica was supposed to fight Sijara Eubanks though that was never announced. Then the UFC decided to give Sijara a title shot though most of us don't think she's any good. It just shows how half assed the UFC has handled this. They took that away but Jessica still needed an opponent. Katlyn is 29 years old from Philadelphia. Her record is 11-1. She's 2-0 in the UFC as a Flyweight. She's a points fighter who uses a keep away strategy. That can win fights but it results in boring fights. Jessica is 32 years old from Cleveland. She's 2-0 since moving to Flyweight. She's not a finisher either. So I expect this to be a close fight that will go the distance. Neither fighter has shown an ability to finish fights. Supposedly this fight is a backup if something goes wrong with the title fight. Geez, I hope it doesn't come to that.
Given what I have seen lately from the UFC, it may very well come to that. This fight may end up a main event the way things are going. It would not surprise me it it did. I agree with your view of both fighters, especially Katlyn. I have seen her fight. I was not at all impressed with her.
