Big Bad Blog Video Theater-Io Shirai vs Zeuxis

Here's the match video of Io Shirai vs Zeuxis from this week's episode of the Mae Young Classic. Of course Io is probably the tournament favorite. Zeuxis is from Puerto Rico but she wrestles in Mexico. She won her first round match over Ariel Monroe. But I didn't think she looked very good. They made a big deal on commentary that Zeuxis had been to Japan. That is true. She worked for Reina as part of their working agreement with CMLL. What they tried to say was that gave Zeuxis an advantage over Io because Io isn't familiar with lucha libre. Silly WWE commentators. Any Io Shirai fan knows that she left Triple Tails to train in Mexico and she joined Stardom upon her return. The match was fine. Io really tried to sell Zeuxis' offense but Zeuxis just isn't that good. I liked the ending though. They teased Zeixis' Spanish Fly finisher which Io turned into a hurricanrana. And of course Io's moonsault which she almost missed for the win. Io will face Deonna Purazzo in the next round. Enjoy the video!
