Hannah Cifers in for Maia Stevenson at UFC Fight Night 139

Freelance reporter James Lynch reported that Maia Stevenson is injured and will be replaced by Hannah Cifers at UFC Fight Night 139 Nov. 10 at the Pepsi Center in Denver. The opponent is Maycee Barber and the fight is at Strawweight. If you are not familiar with Maycee, she made a big splash on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. This is her UFC debut. She's 20 years old with a 5-0 record from Fort Collins, CO. I thought she looked really good for a young kid. Hannah may be a tougher opponent than Maia. She is 26 years old from Oxford, NC. Her record is 8-2. She has wins over Kali Robbins and Celine Haga who both fought for Invicta. One of her losses was to UFC fighter Gillian Robertson. Hannah is a striker and that's how she wins fights. Her loss to Gillian was by rear naked choke. Hannah recently signed with Invicta but she had not fought for them. Invicta contracts are not exclusive. So it looks like Hannah would want to keep the fight standing as she may not have the greatest ground skills. She's coming in on short notice and it's a home game for Maycee. Hannah may be better than Maia but I still don't like her chances.

  1. Sounds to me like a good scrap in the making here Frank. A standing striking fight with two tough fighters. I like them both and could not tell you who would win this fight. All the more reason to watch a potential slugfest. Thanks so much sir. Yours David.
