Bernard signed with Verve and released his debut CD as a leader Medicine Hat in 1998. Since then he has recorded with bands like Jai Uttal and the Pagan Love Orchestra, The Coup, Idris Muhammad, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Groundation and Stanton Moore. Blister is from his 2008 CD Blue Plate Special and was released on the jazz label Palmetto Records. Musicians on the album are John Medeski of Medeski, Martin & Wood on keyboards, Andy Hess of Gov't Mule on bass and Stanton Moore on drums. The CD is recommended to fusion fans.
