JWP had their big Korakuen Hall show on Aug. 26. The main event had Azumi Hyuga defending her JWP Open Weight Title against Amazing Kong. And there was also the JWP vs Sendai Girls series. It started with a signing ceremony for the title match. Amazing Kong went nuts as usual. The opener was the first of three JWP vs Sendai matches. There were no surprises. Tojuki Leon defeated Yurie Kaneko with a backbreaker at 9:04. Then Commando Bolshoi & Kaori Yoneyama defeated Sachiko & Chisako Kanari at 13:22 when Yoneyama used a German suplex on Sachiko. BTW, it has been announced on the Sendai Girls site that as of Sept. 8 Sachiko's new name will be Sachiko Sendai. Huh? Next Toshie Uematsu, Manami Toyota & Hailey Hatred defeated Sachie Abe, KAZUKI & Kei 'to'. Uematsu pinned Abe at 13;25.
Kayoko Haruyama defeated Ran YuYu at 17:53. The problem with the third JWP vs Sendai match is JWP already won the first two so I guess it was anti-climactic. Meiko Satomura, Akari Okuda & Ayane Mizumura defeated Tsubasa Kuragaki, Aya Yuki & Arisa Nakajima when Satomura used the death valley bomb on Nakajima at 19:48. So the whole thing was very predictable. Azumi Hyuga took quite a beating from Amazing Kong during their title match. She got busted open but Hyuga did retain her JWP Open Weight Title with the Destiny's Hammer (diving knee to back of the head) at 21:57. I expected that too but those two needed to conclude their feud.
