Wilson Pickett was another great soul singer who had a long run of hits in the 60s. He was born Mar. 18, 1941 in Prattville, AL. He started out with The Falcons who had a top ten R & B hit with I Found A Love in 1962. He signed with Atlantic and was sent to Memphis to record with Stax in 1965. In The Midnight Hour was his first big hit and it was followed by several more. I'm In Love was a top ten R & B hit in 1968. It was written by Bobby Womack who also plays guitar along with Bobby Woods on guitar, Gene Chrisman on drums and Bobby Emmons on organ. Pickett left Atlantic in 1971 for RCA but was never able to recreate his success elsewhere. This comp has all his Atlantic hits. He continued to tour the oldies concert circuit until his death of a heart attack on Jan. 14, 2006 at age 64. Wilson Pickett's 60s songs still sound great today. Here he is performing Everybody Needs Somebody in Germany 1968.
