Yahoo LAUNCHCAST Song Of The Day-Vanessa Bell Armstrong

Artist:Vanessa Bell Armstrong

Song:I Still Love You

Album:Walking Miracle

Vanessa Bell Armstrong is a veteran gospel singer currently on the comeback trail. She was born Oct. 2, 1953 in Detroit. She started out as a singer with Thomas Whitfield and had some mainstream R & B success in the late 80s with Jive Records. Vanessa's soulful vocals remind a lot of folks of Aretha Franklin and her 90s CDs on Verity Records were consistent sellers. She left Verity and released the Dietrick Haddon produced A Brand New Day on Tommy Boy Gospel in 2001. It was a great CD but Tommy Boy closed in 2002. Meanwhile, Vanessa had health issues because of her weight. I saw her on last year's BET Celebration Of Gospel and she really slimmed down and she still sounds great. Vanessa signed with EMI Gospel and her new CD Walking Miracle was released in February. I Still Love You is a great song written & produced by J. Moss & PAJAM. Other producers on this CD include Smokey Norful, Rodney Jerkins, Uncle Freddie Jerkins, Cedric & Victor Caldwell and Cedric Thompson. Oh and American Idol contestant Melinda Doolittle is on backup vocals. It looks like Vanessa Bell Armstrong is making a strong comeback and here she is singing It's Your Time with Donald Lawrence & The Tri-City Singers on their finale concert.
