Darwin Hobbs is a gospel singer from Nashville whose primarily known for his vocal similarity to R & B legend Luther Vandross. He started out singing backup in the mid-90s and signed with EMI Gospel in 1999. The 2003 CD Broken is his fourth CD and he works mostly with producer Tommy Sims. We Worship You Today was written by Rose Harper of the choir Shekinah Glory Ministry. Hobbs' music goes more towards Praise & Worship style gospel as opposed to Hip Hop style gospel. His most recent CD is 2005's Worshipper and he works a lot with P & W gospel "it" boy Israel Houghton. Houghton used to work for Fred Hammond. He has some of Hammond's talent but lacks his soulfulness. Darwin Hobbs is a very good singer but lacks personality. He needs a producer that will give him some "oomph". That's why this video for Nobody Like Jesus is greatly helped by the appearance of Shirley Murdock who is not only a great singer but is very charismatic.
