Ji Yeon Kim vs Sabina Mazo was one of two fights added to UFC on ESPN+ 23 Dec. 21 at Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea. This match is at Flyweight. Ji is 29 years old from Incheon, South Korea. Her record is 9-2-2 and 3-2 in the UFC. After beating Nadia Kassem by TKO at UFC 243, she said she wanted to be on the Korea show. Ji started her career at Bantamweight and she dropped to Flyweight after losing her first UFC fight. But she has missed weight twice in a row. She really needs to make weight this time. Like many Korean fighters, she started as a kickboxer and got into MMA in Japan. Sabina is 22 years old from Colombia but she trains at Kings MMA in Huntington Beach, CA. She's 7-1 and 1-1 in the UFC. She's a former LFA Flyweight Champion. She dominated in her win over Shana Dobson. Both are at a level where a win could move them into the rankings. So I expect this fight to be competitive.
Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.
