Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Big Bad Blog Video Theater-Ji Yeon Kim vs Nadia Kassem
Here's the match video of Ji Yeon Kim vs Nadia Kassem from last night's UFC show in Melbourne, Australia. Like many Korean fighters, Kim is really a kickboxer. She first fought MMA in Japan and she's not bad. She's a good puncher with some power. But she lacks aggression. She also dropped from Bantamweight to Flyweight and she missed weight for the second straight time. Nadia is an Aussie. She's 1-2 in the UFC. Her boyfriend Ashkan Mokhtarian is also a UFC fighter. His brother trains both of them. Look, I know the UFC needs Aussies for this show. But Nadia doesn't belong in the UFC regardless. This is also a size mismatch. Kim is much bigger than Nadia. Nadia started out at Strawweight. Round one shows the problems with both of them. Nadia likes to use a side kick designed to keep Kim away. It's not enough and that move uses too much energy and poops her out. Typically, Kim simply lacks aggression. She can be effective if she throws more because she's accurate. She was like this in her other UFC fights. But a lightbulb went on in Kim's head between rounds. She was much better in round two. She almost got a finish. But Nadia lost her mouthpiece and the ref wrongly stopped the fight to put it back in. It didn't stop Kim. She continued to hammer Nadia until a couple of body shots stopped the fight at 4:59 of round two. Kim could be a contender if she fought like that all the time. But after missing weight twice, she may have to return to Bantamweight. She would lose that size advantage. Enjoy the video!
