Song:Holly Jolly Christmas
Album:Joy To The World
It's around this time of year I am asked about Christmas albums. So I try to feature a few on the blog. Every country artist seems to record a Christmas album at some point. Of course Faith Hill has been one of the most popular country artists mostly in the 90s. Of course she's married to Tim McGraw and they have a family. So she has slowed down in recent years. She doesn't record or tour as much as she used to. Probably the best known thing she was doing when she recorded this 2008 Christmas album was performing the theme for NBC Sunday Night Football. Typically, this album is mostly Christmas standards like the Johnny Marks song Holly Jolly Christmas originally recorded by Burl Ives for the 1964 TV special Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. She also taped a TV special for PBS Soundstage. The album was produced by veteran producers Byron Gallimore and Dann Huff. David Campbell wrote the arrangements and conducted the orchestra. The album was certified Gold. The album is intended for Faith's fans and that's who should buy it. The TV special also called Joy To The World can be viewed on Youtube. Since then, Faith recorded a 2011 album that was never released. In 2017, she moved from Warner to Arista and released the album The Rest of our Life with husband Tim McGraw. They also toured. She was executive producer of the syndicated daytime talk show Pickler & Ben with Kellie Pickler and Ben Aaron. The show was cancelled after two seasons. And she appeared as a judge on the CBS competition show The World's Best. Here's Faith Hill performing Holly Jolly Christmas from the 2008 TV special Faith Hill: Joy To The World: A Soundstage Special.
