Welcome to Frank Pozen's Big Bad Blog. A lot of folks have been asking me to update them about my recovery. So I thought I would start a blog primarily to do that but also to talk about other topics of interest including the wrestling business and whatever else I can think of. I plan to update this on a regular basis so check back and leave a comment if you wish.

Big Bad Blog Video Theater-Germaine De Randamie vs Aspen Ladd
Here's the match video of Germaine De Randamie vs Aspen Ladd from last night's UFC show in Sacramento. As I'm sure you have heard by now, Germaine dropped Aspen early in round one and ref Herb Dean stopped the fight too quickly. Dean has a long history of early stoppages. You can see in the video it's almost a knee jerk reaction. He doesn't even look at Aspen. Because if he had, he would have seen that she was getting up. Dean is aware that this is a problem because there are articles online about his worst stoppages. Though it was a lot different from this, his other bad stoppage this year was Ben Askren vs Robbie Lawler in March. Refs are not there to foresee what might happen in a match or make assumptions. They are supposed to react to what happens. So it's a bad habit that becomes a problem if it happens too frequently. It's only July and Dean has had two bad stoppages already this year. Anyway, I'm not going to beat a dead horse but a rematch is warranted. You'll notice that Germaine didn't get a bonus because of the screwup. Check out the video for yourself.

That was to quick of a stoppage. I will admit to anyone after seeing that video that Aspen Ladd was in trouble and she could have been finished off after being knocked down. But Herb Dean should have waited and seen if that was the case. He stopped the fight to soon. Ladd could have gotten out of trouble and gone on to fight, or Germaine could have indeed finished her in the next few seconds. The fight could have gone either way. Dean should have waited about 5-10 seconds more to make sure. To bad, your right Frank, we need a rematch, which we will probably never get, to see who really is the better fighter. David.
