Here's the fight video of Rose Namajunas vs Tracy Cortez from last night's UFC show in Denver. This fight is at Flyweight. It's a five round main event. Rose's original opponent was Maycee Barber. The idea was Rose lives in Colorado and Maycee is from Colorado. But Maycee is having serious health problems and should have never accepted the fight. Because she pulled out a couple of weeks ago.. Tracy was supposed to fight Miranda Maverick next week. The UFC got her to take this fight. And I hope they gave her a substantial bonus. Because she should have said no. For starters, it's a five round fight and she was training for a three round fight. Second, the altitude is a big problem especially for a five round fight. Plus though Tracy is 5-0 in the UFC, Rose is a big step up in competition. Of course by the time the UFC was forced to make the change, it was too late to cancel the fight as tickets were already sold with Rose promised to appear. What's the solution? The UFC should have been more careful regarding Maycee's health issues. Be sure she should accept the fight. They could have found someone else back when it was announced. They wouldn't have had to panic like they did here. As expected, the fight was a waste of time. Rose won easily by unanimous decision. The point is the makeshift nature of the match was because the matchmaker in question didn't do his job. And the win doesn't help Rose as she's not getting a title shot. She did say she would like to fight in Lithuania. That's not happening either. Enjoy the fight!
