Singer songwriter Sloan Struble records as Dayglow. He does everything in his home studio and hires musicians for touring. This is commonly labeled as Bedroom Rock. He has had success in the indie rock market. But his new album is on a major label so we'll see how that goes. He was born Aug.10, 1999 in Aledo, TX. He taught himself everything by using the music software Garageband. He graduated from high school in Fort Worth in 2018. And he studied advertising at the University of Texas at Austin. Struble self released an album as Kindred in 2016. After releasing three more singles, Struble started calling himself Dayglow. The big difference is he started his own Very Nice label and signed with the British distributor AWAL. Struble released three albums as Dayglow. Close to You is from the 2021 album Harmony House. I would describe his music as Dream Pop. There's a market for this kind of music but not a mainstream market. Struble is very similar to Tame Impala's Kevin Parker. He does everything himself in the studio and hires musicians for touring. Struble insists on calling Dayglow a band. It's not a band...yet. After Sony purchased AWAL in 2021, Struble signed with the newly revived Mercury Records. Republic Records purchased the name recently. A new Dayglow album will be released in September. It remains to be seen if being on a major label changes how Struble does things. Or he remains a one man band. Here's the video for Close to You by Dayglow.
