Mine was Andrew Bazzi's 2018 debut single and it was a top 20 hit. The big question is can Bazzi sustain that or will he be a one hit wonder. I have my doubts and I will explain. He was born Aug. 28, 1997 in Canton, MI. His father is a Lebanese immigrant. Bazzi learned to play guitar and started posting videos on YouTube in 2012. Then he decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a music career. He attended high school in Santa Monica. Bazzi became a viral sensation. He had 1.5M followers on Vine. Mine was one of two singles he released independently. It got the attention of Atlantic Records and they signed him to a contract. Mine became a meme through a Snapchat slide show. It reached #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Bazzi wrote and produced the album COSMIC with the production duo of Rice N' Peas (Mike Woods, Kevin White). The album was released only as a digital download. So now what? Bazzi appeared on a remix of the Camila Cabello single Beautiful. He released an EP in 2019 and his new album Infinite Dreams in 2022. The problem I see is he's not charting. Maybe he's a viral fluke. Bazzi has admitted to drug and alcohol problems mostly due to boredom. It looks like he wrote and produced the new album alone.
