Here's the match video of Tecia Torres vs Angela Hill from last night's UFC show in Houston. This fight is at Strawweight. Tecia won when they fought in 2015. They were supposed to fight a few months ago but Angela tested positive for COVID-19. I didn't expect this fight to be much different from the 2015 fight. Both fighters are strikers. Neither has much of a ground game. And they don't finish fights. Tecia's big edge is that she is quicker than Angela. Angela has no answer for that. That was true in 2015 and last night. Look, I understand that fans love Angela's personality. But she's not a good fighter. All her wins are over lower midcard fighters. Her losses have been to ranked fighters like Claudia Gadelha, Michelle Waterson and now Tecia Torres. I scored the fight 30-27 for Tecia and so did two of the judges. The third scored it 29-28. Next Tecia wants to face a top five opponent. I could see her beating Marina Rodriguez or Yan Xiaonan. But even those two are iffy. Angela needs to ask herself if she is satisfied with her current position. Because she's never going to be better than lower midcard. Maybe it's time for her to become a full time commentator.
