Artist:Angel Olsen
Song:Intern
Album:My Woman
Singer songwriter Angel Olsen has had success as an album and touring artist. Her label Jagjaguwar aren't really looking for hit singles. They are looking for longevity and Angel will be around for a long time. She was born Angelina Carroll Jan. 22, 1987 in St. Louis. She was adopted at age three and took the family name of Olsen. She taught herself to play piano and guitar and began to write songs. She played in punk bands as a teen. After graduating high school, Angel moved to Chicago. The 2011 EP Strange Cacti got her a record deal with Jagjaguwar, one of the top indie rock labels. Intern is from her 2016 album My Woman. By this time, Angel moved to Ashville, NC. It was her third album. Angel wrote and produced all the songs. And she even directed the video for Intern. The album was highly acclaimed and it appeared on several Best of 2016 lists including The AV Club, Time and Paste. It's Angel's best selling album to date. But like I said, Jagjaguwar wants consistency and Angel's two subsequent albums have done well. Her latest album Whole New Mess was released in 2020. Here's the video for Intern by Angel Olsen.
