Here's the match video of Danyelle Wolf vs Taneisha Tennant from last night's Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series (DWTNCS). This fight is at Featherweight. Danyelle is an Olympic boxer making her MMA debut. When the IOC eliminated Danyelle's weight class in 2016, she decided to try MMA. She's 37 years old and she trains at Victory in San Diego. Supposedly, no one wanted to fight her until now. Taneisha is 31 years old from New York. She trains at Budokan Martial Arts with Nardu Debrah. UFC fighter Randy Brown is a teammate. Taneisha won one of those Invicta one night tournaments a few months ago. All her previous fights were at Bantamweight. She is mainly a kickboxer. Like a lot of the DWTNCS fights, this seemed like a squash match set up to give Danyelle a UFC contract. But it wasn't a squash. All three judges scored it 29-28 for Danyelle. Some questioned if she won the fight. But the real question is should she get a UFC contract. Of course not but the UFC gave her one anyway. I think Danyelle would be better off fighting in Invicta. If she does well there, then the UFC could sign her. This seems ass backwards to me. Check out the video for yourself.
