Song:Thirsty Boots
Album:Judy Collins Wildflower Festival
Here's an album that will be of interest to folk music fans. It was organized by Judy Collins and it features folk music legends Eric Andersen, Tom Rush and Arlo Guthrie. Thirsty Boots is probably Andersen's best known song because Judy recorded it in the 60s. She started her own label Wildflower Records in 1992 with her manager Katherine DePaul. They normally license albums to labels like LaserLight. They currently work with Cleopatra Records. Wildflower has released a few albums themselves. Live At Wolf Trap was their first release in 1999. The Judy Collins Wildflower Festival was the second release in 2003. This was filmed and recorded at Humphries By The Sea in San Diego. Judy, Tom Rush, Eric Andersen and Arlo Guthrie all perform individually and then they perform three songs together at the end of the show. They perform Guthrie's biggest hit City of New Orleans, Andersen's Thirsty Boots and finish with Will The Circle Be Unbroken. Judy makes a point of showcasing Andersen because he never achieved commercial success. This was released on CD and DVD. And that's what you get along with a third CD of interviews. The DVD was released separately but is out of print. Fans of Judy and the other artists should check it out. Judy's latest album Winter Stories with Norwegian Jonas Fjeld and his band Chatham County Line was released last year. Here's Judy Collins with Eric Andersen, Arlo Guthrie and Tom Rush performing Thirsty Boots at the Judy Collins Wildflower Festival in San Diego 2002.
