He records for his own label with CD Baby distribution. He was born Aug. 28, 1973 in Evanston, IL. He started playing sax at age ten and began to take it seriously in high school. At Indiana University, Greene learned the basics from David Baker. After graduating, he played with Steve Coleman and Von Freeman. He's been recording as a leader since 1998. He formed his current band in 2005. Amalgasantos is from the 2008 CD Soul and Science 2: Electric Boogaloo. The song was written by Brazilian musician Ed Motta who has played with Greene.
